These are specifically made to replace the dish and LED in ITC 3" fixtures model 69231.  Replace the LED module instead of the whole fixture.  This replacement module is much more robust with a large protection circuit and an aluminum top board / heat sink.  It fits under the standard glass lenses and features 12 Samsung 5630 LEDs.  This is much brighter than the OEM 9 LED plate.  You also have the choice of 3200k Warm White or 4500k Natural White to brighten the area.  Easy installation and includes wire nuts.

  1. UPDATED REVIEW - Excellent Retrofit 5 Star Review

    This is an update to my previous review. I was so pleased with the test fixture that I decided to retrofit my entire bus. What a difference! Everything is so well lit and the warm-white temperature is fantastic. I cannot describe how well lit the entire bus is. The difference is literally night and day.

    With a total of 39 fixtures, I got a complete overhaul in lighting for around $400, which is a much less expensive upgrade compared to total fixture replacement. This replacement works very well with the old-style ITC lights that have a single LED (see my other review).


  2. Excellent But... 4 Star Review

    As with all M4 products I've purchased, this retrofit is excellent. I'm using this in my RV, and the light is true (warm) and bright. The published lumen output is significantly higher than the stock fixture, but in reality the light is not significantly brighter than stock. However, it is brighter and better dispersed.

    For me it's about quality. I've had a half dozen of the stock ITC fixtures fail in an 18-month period despite the 50,000 hour quoted life expectancy. I have yet to have an M4 product fail, one of which is in the shower (wet and damp).

    Here's the kicker. ITC made two versions of this light. One has a single LED with a driver mounted on the back, and the other has a multiple LEDs. This retrofit is for the multiple LED version, which I don't have. I have the single LED version. Right now, I'm using a permanent, outdoor, wet/dry, double-sided 3M tape to hold the M4 assembly to the original housing. It seems to work (for now). I will monitor this over time and update this review.

    The M4 product is slightly warm to the touch (touching the Lexan lens) after the light has been on for a long time. It's slightly warmer than the ITC original, but just slightly. It's not hot enough to be a concern.

    One thing I wish was different is the electrical leads. They are very thin and I would prefer a larger wire gauge.

    I'm giving it 4 stars because M4 should clarify that this is not for single LED lights, and for the thin electrical leads. But Overall, it's another excellent M4 product with regard to LED color and build quality of the driver and mounting structure.

    M4 Note: Please refer to the pictures on the item as the one it replaces is in the photos. At this time we are not familiar with the single led version, so we would need to see it to see if we have an LED that is better suited. The doubles sided tape approach should work find though as the tape will be attached to the rear plate (which is flat), and the LEDs are on the front plate (which is where the heat is dissipated as it is aluminum). The surface temp of this LED will only be around 100-110F which is normal and very little. Thanks for the feedback.
